Subaru recently launched the 2016 Subaru WRX STI 光 Hikari Edition. The Japanese word “hikari” translates into “light” or “beam of light,” and this brilliant Hyper Blue limited edition car is certainly a flash of automotive style.

The Subaru WRX STI is legendary in the car world and this version is their most complete performance car ever. The 光 Hikari Edition brings to this car an air of exclusivity, only 900 are being made available in North America, 700 in the United States where it is known as the Series.HyperBlue, and 200 in Canada.

The Subaru WRX STI 光 Hikari Edition shares similar equipment with the WRX STI Sport. The additional Hikari Edition features include visual cues on the surface and performance enhancements under the skin. Jet-black exterior touches, like the menacing 18-inch BBS alloy rims and the blue interior accent-stitching which echoes the Hyper Blue exterior.

The car features large STI-branded Brembo high-performance ventilated disc brakes with four-piston calipers up front and dual-piston calipers in the rear. The 2.5 litre Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC), 16-valve, horizontally opposed, 4-cylinder boxer engine, with high-pressure turbocharger and high-capacity intercooler, Electronic Throttle Control and Dual Active Valve Control System, generate 305 hp at 6000 rpm and 290 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. This WRX STI accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62.5 mph) in 4.9 second and will hit a top speed of top speed of 255 km/h (158 mph).
