The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama just wrapped up its 6th successful season. The Canadian series is one of 20 global Porsche 911 one-make series. This season consisted of 6 race weekends with 12 rounds of racing. The season started off at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville Ontario, then moved to Watkins Glen International in Upstate New York, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, the Honda Indy Toronto street course, the street course in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec and finished off back at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the final 2 rounds.

The series features amateur/semi-professional drivers and young aspiring professionals driving Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars and the new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. The series is divided into three classes: Platinum Cup, with the current generation Porsche 911; Gold Cup, with the previous generation 2010-2013 Porsche 911’s ; and Silver Cup, with the new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

We joined the drivers as they embarked on the start of the second half of the season at the 2016 Honda Indy Toronto.
TrackWorthy had the opportunity to speak to teammates Zach Robichon (No. 78) and Marco Cirone (No. 88). Zach, from Ottawa, Ontario, won two races this season and finished 3rd overall in the Platinum class. Marco, who lives in Toronto but was born in Rome, Italy, won 6 races this season and was the Platinum Masters Champion for the 3rd consecutive year.
