A fun family holiday tradition involves buying a Christmas tree, taking it home, safely, and decorating it. One transportation option, that we really don’t recommend, is to strap your tree to the roof of a 1,000 horsepower Hennessey Venom Mustang GT500 and blast along at more than 300 km/h or 190 mph. This may be the fastest travelling Fraser fir tree ever, as it laps in a controlled environment at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds near San Antonio, Texas.
The Hennessey Venom 1000 Mustang GT500 is based on the Mustang Shelby GT500, which is the most powerful factory-produced Mustang Ford has ever built. Race car driver Spencer Geswein takes this Christmas tree on the ride of its life atop this road legal, seasonally appropriate Eruption Green 1,000 hp Mustang.
"Our annual ‘Christmas Tree Run’ serves two roles for our growing company,” said company Founder and CEO John Hennessey. “First, testing our performance at a proving grounds is a great opportunity to validate our engineering – the Venom 1000 delivers impressive numbers. Second, adding the seasonal twist allows our hard-working team to end the year with some high-speed fun before they slow down and enjoy their families for the holidays."
