Ferrari’s XX program, launched in 2005, takes Ferrari’s most capable and exclusive high-performance cars and owners to the race track for private test and development events. None of the XX cars, including the 599XX and FXX, have been street legal, until now. For the first time ever, Ferrari are offering two road going XX models.
These new XX cars are exclusive, fast, very expensive and already sold out. 799 Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale’s and 599 Ferrari SF90 XX Spider’s will be built. Ferrari’s most prized clientele will pay roughly $845,000 USD or $1.118 million CAD for the SF90 XX Stradale and roughly $930,000 USD or $1.231 million CAD for the SF90 XX Spider.
Power comes from the SF90 Stradale’s PHEV powertrain. The 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine generates 785 hp at 7,900 rpm. Redline is 8,000 rpm. Add on an additional 230 horsepower from its three electric motors and you have 1,015 hp powering the rear wheels via an 8 speed F1 DCT gearbox. That’s 30 more horsepower for the XX over the SF90 Stradale.
Their 315/30 ZR F20 rear tires can launch this roughly 3,600 pound (dry weight) car from 0-100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds. 200 km/h arrives in just 6.5 seconds, 6.7 seconds for the Spider, which is slightly heavier. Top speed is 320 km/h or just under 200 miles per hour. The 20 inch front wheels are shod with 255/35 ZR F20 tires.
The SF90 XX Spider’s retractable hardtop can raise or lower its aluminum panels in 14 seconds travelling at speeds of up to 45 km/h or 28 mph. The SF90 XX Stradale has the most efficient aerodynamic performance of any street legal Ferrari. It has twice the maximum downforce of the SF90 Stradale and can generate 695 pounds of downforce at 250 km/h or 155 mph.
