Bugatti Chiron Tested and Approved by Cristiano Ronaldo!
March 6 2017
Just before deliveries of the new
start, Bugatti has requested that a real champion give the French luxury brand’s new ultimate hypercar a final test drive. Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, World Player of the Year and reigning European Champion is a huge sportscar fan. Andy Wallace, 24 Hours of Le Mans and three-time 24 Hours of Daytona winning race car driver and Bugatti test driver, hands the keys over to Cristiano for a test drive. He got behind the wheel in Madrid to take a closer look at the Bugatti Chiron supercar. Cristiano’s conclusion: approved after comprehensive testing!
The Bugatti Chiron has a 7.993 litre W16 engine that generates 1,500 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque thanks to the turbochargers which Bugatti developed in-house. The 4 two-stage turbos generate that torque from 2,000 to 6,000 rpm. The result is unbelievable acceleration which only starts to dwindle after attaining the 400 km/h mark. It will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just over 2 seconds. As one might expect, generating all of this power and performance requires a lot of fuel. The Bugatti Chiron fuel economy city rating is 35.2 l/100km, highway is 15.2 l/100km and combined is 22.5 l/100km.
