Bugatti is giving Chiron drivers and passengers a clear view of the sky with the addition of two ‘Sky View’ glass panels above the occupant’s heads. The two fixed panels are constructed of newly developed laminated glass with four intermediate layers which provide sound and thermal insulation. Each layer meets individual requirements. Wind noise is reduced and infrared radiation is reflected away from the car to avoid heating the car’s interior. The glass panels are tinted to protect the occupants’ privacy. Harmful UVA and UVB ultraviolet radiation is filtered out. The laminated design also improves the stiffness of the roof panels. The structural properties of the Chiron, including the stiffness of the overall car and crash safety, are maintained.

Bugatti plans to present the Chiron Sky View at the Monterey Car Week in California at the end of August.
