Honda used the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show to unveil its all-new Honda Sports EV Concept. The friendly faced 2 door fastback coupe draws styling cues and the same electric car platform as the recently revealed Urban EV Concept. Honda has stated that a model based on the Urban EV Concept will go into production for delivery in Europe in 2019 and Japan in 2020. A model based on the Sports EV Concept could follow.

The Sports EV Concept has an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system called the Honda Automated Network Assistant which is intended to create “communication that unites driver and car”. Hopefully that will translate into an engaging and sporty driving experience.

According to Honda the development team designed the sporty electric car to deliver a feeling of joy and emotional unity to the drive, achieved by efficiently combining the EV power unit and AI technology in a compact body shape.
