“No matter what hardships these children are experiencing in their lives, just for one day, we can help them forget about it all and just enjoy…”Francesco Balli, Regional Manager of Ferrari North Europe
Ferrari North Europe hosted its 8th annual Charity Event at Silverstone with 50 very special and deserving children from long-time Ferrari partners, Rays of Sunshine, a children’s charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill children in the UK aged three to eighteen, and ben, the automotive industry’s own benevolent fund. The main European event of the 2017 Corse Clienti season drew over 80 Ferraris including 488 Challenges, 458 Challenge EVOs, and the cars of the XX Programmes and F1 Clienti, including the F60 driven by Marc Gené.

The children were treated to an exhilarating passenger ride around the Silverstone Stowe circuit in a Ferrari 488 Spider. Each ride was recorded on in-car videos for the children and families to take away as a special memory from the day. The sun was shining on the Silverstone circuit, but even that couldn’t compete with the smiles on the faces of the children as they experienced an unforgettable ride a Ferrari, just part of the Ferrari 70th Anniversary celebrations in 2017.

“This event is a great opportunity for us to share our passion for Ferrari with some very deserving children from Rays of Sunshine and from ben, two great charities with whom we have been working together for many years,” said Francesco Balli, Regional Manager of Ferrari North Europe. “The smiles on the faces of these children as they experience the thrill of riding in a Ferrari, that is what makes this event such an incredible event for us to support. No matter what hardships these children are experiencing in their lives, just for one day, we can help them forget about it all and just enjoy and have some fun.”

Ferrari 70th Anniversary celebrations continued at Ferrari Racing Days, Silverstone with a packed schedule of on-track activities from the F1 Clienti, FXX, 599XX, FXX K and the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli. Apart from the end of season Finali Mondiali, the Ferrari Racing Days event at Silverstone is the only location in the UK where Ferrari fans were able to see all of these different track activities at the same venue on the same weekend.

The F1 Clienti saw important and historic F1 cars from Ferrari’s racing heritage take to the track each day for demonstration laps. Ferrari is unique amongst F1 teams because, not only has the Scuderia Ferrari won more F1 Constructor’s Titles than any other team, but also because it allows the most loyal and passionate Ferrari clients the chance to live their dream – to own and drive a Ferrari F1 car on a GP circuit.

The FXX, 599XX and FXX K experimental development cars also took to the track for development work on new technologies that form the cornerstone of this programme, with the special Client Test Drivers pushing their XX cars to the limit on the fast and challenging Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. This is the only opportunity for Ferrari fans to see and hear the FXX Evo, 599XX Evo and FXX K cars running on a circuit in the UK this year.

In addition to the F1 Clienti and FXX/599XX programmes, the Ferrari Racing Days event staged races from the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, a one-make racing series for Ferrari’s mid-engined V8 cars, with packed grids of the 458 Challenge and the brand new 488 Challenge being raced by experienced and “Gentleman” drivers in two 30 minute races.
