2024 Subaru WRX TR Gets Handling Upgrades

Subaru’s new TR trim level will be the best handling WRX available in 2024. It will come with numerous performance upgrades, but no additional power. Under the hood remains Subaru’s 2.4 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder boxer engine with 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

    Performance upgrades for the 2024 WRX TR include:

    • High-performance Brembo braking system with red 6-piston front calipers, red 2-piston rear calipers, larger pads and rotors and larger brake master cylinder.
    • Stiffer springs with revised damping rates.
    • All-new and exclusive 19-inch multi-spoke satin gray wheels with 245/35 R19 Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires.
    • Retuned steering.
    • New Recaro black and gray Ultrasuede front seats with 8-way power adjustments for the driver.
    • No sunroof is available to reduce weight, lower the car’s center of gravity and provide more headroom when wearing a helmet on the race track.
    • EyeSight Driver Assist, available for the first time with the manual transmission.

    Pricing and availability details have not been released. The WRX TR is scheduled to arrive in dealer showrooms in Q1 2024. The last time Subaru offered the Tuner Ready (TR) WRX was 2006 as a base, stripped down model. The 2024 TR will be the top of the line WRX. The 2024 WRX TR had its global debut this month at Subiefest Florida at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
