2020 Porsche 718 Spyder – A Five Part Video Review
Porsche have offered a variety of Spyders since the debut of the 550 Spyder in 1953. In 2004, Porsche celebrated the 50th anniversary of that iconic 2-seater drop top with the 550 Spyder Boxster S Special Edition. In 2008 the Boxster RS60 Spyder paid homage to the 1960 Porsche Type 718 RS60 spyder. In 2010 Porsche offered a lightweight stripped-down Boxster Spyder which weighed in at just 2,800 pounds. The 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder and hardtop sibling coupe, the 718 Cayman GT4, are the most track worthy 718’s to ever hit the road, and track.

The 2020 718 Spyder, and Cayman GT4, are powered by 4.0 litre flat six engines that redline at 8,000 rpm. The naturally aspirated boxer engine generates 414 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque. 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) can be achieved, via the rather tall geared 6-speed manual transmission, in 4.4 seconds. Top speed in 6th gear is 301 km/h or 187 mph.
